Patient Self-Care

During your acupuncture visit, we encourage you to take this time to relax and unplug from your phone. If possible, please put your phone on silent to fully immerse yourself in the healing process.
Your practitioner may offer recommendations regarding lifestyle, diet, and movement to help support your healing process. It's important to follow these suggestions as they are tailored to enhance the benefits of your acupuncture treatments and promote your overall health. While we understand it may not always be easy, there is an expectation that you will try your best to incorporate these changes. Your active participation in these areas can make a significant difference in the effectiveness of your treatment and your long-term well-being.

For those interested in receiving acupuncture while pregnant or TTC, you are expected to inform your OB/GYN, primary care and pregnancy care-team that you are coming for acupuncture. I can only treat pregnant patients when they are being supervised by an OB/GYN medical doctor, and when the labor is performed by an OB/GYN in an acute care hospital. This is for insurance reasons.

While acupuncture can be a valuable part of your health and wellness routine, we recommend continuing regular check-ups with your primary care provider. This ensures you maintain consistent care and receive accurate diagnoses for any ongoing health concerns. Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture complement traditional medical treatments, but it's important to have a comprehensive approach to your health, combining both practices to support your goals.
